Is iwi Omega 3 all it’s cracked up to be, or is there a better option you should spend your hard-earned cash on? Find out below!

You know you need to get enough omega-3 daily for optimal health, but it’s hard to know which supplements are the best, and even harder to trust that they’re actually doing you good.

Most Omega-3 supplements are made from fish, but where do those fish get their Omega-3? From algae! Algae is a sustainable source of EPA and DHA, the two forms of Omega-3 that your body needs.

If you’re looking to cut out the middle man (middle fish) and get your omega-3 from algae, supplements like iwi Omega-3 may have flown onto your radar.

If you’ve stumbled on this review, you’re likely considering investing in this algae-based omega-3 supplement. But should you?

iwi Omega-3: What’s It All About?

If you’re a vegan, or simply looking for a fish-free source of omega-3 fatty acids, iwi Omega 3 is a great option to consider. This algae supplement is made from algae oil, a plant-based source of omega-3s, and comes in a convenient capsule form.

As we alluded to earlier, getting your omega 3s in as a vegan isn’t easy. This is because some of the best dietary sources of omega-3 are found in fish, such as salmon and tuna. However, there are plant-based sources of omega 3s that can be incorporated into a vegan diet, such as chia seeds, flaxseeds, and walnuts.

But if you’re looking for a more convenient way to get your omega-3s, then a supplement like iwi Omega 3 is something to consider.

Features

  • 50% more Omega-3 absorption than fish, krill, and other algae oils.
  • Plant-based and sustainably farmed in the USA.
  • Better for you and ocean life.

Benefits

  • Soothes your nervous system for keeping your brain-body connection sharp
  • Supports healthy joints and bones for enhanced mobility
  • Reduces irritation and inflammation throughout your body

The Best Omega-3 Supplement Money Can Buy

You deserve the safest, cleanest, and most sustainable Omega-3s around. That’s why Performance Lab Omega-3 with life’s™OMEGA algal oil is the perfect choice for you. It supplies high-potency DHA+EPA benefits without fish oil drawbacks, so you can feel confident about what you’re putting into your body.

iwi Omega 3 Ingredients

EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid)

EPA is an omega-3 fatty acid that is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is thought to play a role in preventing and treating conditions such as heart disease, arthritis, and asthma.

DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid)

DHA is another omega-3 fatty acid that is important for cognitive development and eye health. It is also thought to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Omega6 Fatty Acids

Omega6 fatty acids are a type of polyunsaturated fatty acid. They are important for maintaining heart health, cognitive function, and reducing inflammation.

Omega7 Fatty Acids

Omega7 fatty acids are a type of monounsaturated fatty acid. They are thought to be beneficial for heart health and skin health.

Omega9 Fatty Acids

Omega9 fatty acids are a type of monounsaturated fatty acid. They are thought to be beneficial for heart health and blood sugar control.

Polar Lipids

Polar lipids are an emulsifier that reportedly maximizes the absorption of omega-3 fatty acids.

Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll is included in iwi omega 3 to help stabilize the algal oil. It can potentially help with blood detoxification and provide immune system support, but there are far more effective ways to get these benefits through diet and/or supplementation.

iwi omega 3: What’s Not To Like?

While iwi Omega 3 is a great plant-based source of omega-3 fatty acids, one of the biggest areas of improvement is that it needs to increase the amount of EPA and DHA it provides.

Our top recommended omega-3 supplement – Performance Lab Omega-3 – contains over double the amount of EPA and DHA compared to iwi Omega 3. It may come in at a higher price point, but you can’t put a price on optimal health!

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a vegan omega-3 supplement, then iwi Omega 3 has a lot to like about it. It’s plant-based and sustainably farmed in the USA (not made from fish), contains an okay amount of EPA and DHA per serving, and provides many health benefits with regular consumption.

However, considering you can get a higher amount of omega-3 fatty acids in similar products on the market for not much more, it might be worth considering one of those options instead. Find out more in my guide to the best carrageenan-free vegan omega-3 supplement.

What Are the Benefits of Taking iwi Omega 3?

Just stumbled upon this article. Says written in 2022. I started taking iwi omega-3 about 6 months ago. I was taking the plant based Nordic brand then read that it had carrageenan in it. I literally researched more and found iwi which does not contain carrageenan. No where on the label does it say this. Just FYI. Unless they changed something since this article was written. I love this brand! 2024
